Q:Thanks for all your help. This tire seems like a good candidate. What is the load index? How many miles are expected out of this tire? Is it a soft compound or does it wear well on hard pack & asphalt? Is it a smoot and quiet ride?
Asked by: Chad R
- 1/31/2018
A: Every size has a different load rating. What size are you looking for and I'll let you know. ATV/UTV tires don't have any kind of Mileage rating. Most customers are getting around 4k miles at least out of this type of tire. It wears well on hard pack.

Q:I would like to know if these tires run fairly close to the listed size in overall height? (many brands don't)
Asked by: Scott
- 1/30/2017
A: Yes these do run pretty true to size. The width of rims that you mount them on can affect the overall height of the tire too. The skinnier the rim the taller the tire will be.

A: Yes, this tire can be used on turf without tearing it up too bad as long as you take it easy when driving on the lawn. We have many customers order these and use them on turf with great success.

Q:will 30x10x14" mongrels fit the stock rims 29x9x14 front and 29x11x14 back 2014 rzr xp 1000 with no problems?
Asked by: al
- 10/10/2016
A: Yes they will fit but we don't recommend it. The reason is because your factory rims are two different widths. The fronts are skinnier than the backs, this would cause your tires to be different heights. If you have aftermarket rims they would most likely all be the same width so it wouldn't be an issue to run 30x10 all the way around. Let us know if we can help with getting a kit put together for you. Thanks!

Q:Will the 26-10-12 or 27-11-12 Mongrel fit a stock 2017 Honda Pioneer 700-4 (stock wheels, no lift, no spacers)?
Asked by: RB
- 4/11/2018
A: Yes you could run the 26x10-12 or you might also consider running the 27x9-12. Either would work just fine. The 27-11-12 would work on the rear but not the front.

Q:My 2019 Wolverine has 26x8x12 front and 26x10x12 rear. I don't want it any taller/wider (need to fit my toyhauler). I wish to put Mongrels on but there is not a 26x8x12. Would it be okay to use the 25x8x12. Is there any downside to this?
Asked by: John
- 8/17/2018
A: Yes you can run 25x8 on there. It's just 1 inch shorter overall. Which means you lose 1/2 inch of ground clearance (1/2 inch on top and bottom of the tire) Just the lost ground clearance is the only negative I can think of.

Q:I need at least a 10 ply tire for my side by side. They are 25x8x12 and 25x10x12. I work my side by side in the mountains and forests. The stock tires always go flat with any kind of stick or thorn. I need the best durability tire for safety and longevity. Is the Kanati Mongrel the best tire for this?
Asked by: KEVIN
- 7/8/2020
A: Yes these are an excellent choice for your application. If you need something more aggressive you should check out our RP Spartan 12 ply run flat tires. They would also be a great choice for you.

Q:I have a 2014 Ranger 800 fullsize with stock rim and tires I would like to go a couple inches higher on the same rims can u tell me wich 4 tires to order for front and back ?
Asked by: Jaime Ibarra
- 1/11/2019
A: Your machine should have 12 inch stock rims unless it's a limited edition model with 14's. You should double check that. Assuming you have 12 inch you would want to order 27-9-12 front and 27-11-12 rear. If you have 14 inch rims you would want to order 27-9-14 front and 27-11-14 rear. Anything bigger would not fit your machine.

Asked by: ken

A: Unfortunately no, in our experience the 28's will not clear without rubbing on a stock Ranger 900. I would recommend 27 inch the largest you go on your model.

Q:2019 Can Am Commander Max XT ( stock setup): Ruined one of the stock Big Horn 2.0 tires this weekend. What do you recommend for 4 tire replacement, driving a lot of asphalt to get to trails in the Ruidoso, NM area. Legal SxS state (with proper paperwork and registrations) No clue what will fit or size, as the machine is at my weekender several hours away...thanks?
Asked by: IP Freely
- 9/4/2019
A: Hi, we usually sell 27 inch mongrels for your machine. You'll need to find out what size your rims are before we can sell you tires though. You could have 12 or 14 inch rims. That will determine which tires you need to order. Let me know. thanks!

Q:Have a 2014 Polaris Ranger midsize 800. Would 26x10x12 work front and back without rubbing on the front?
Asked by: Dave
- 2/29/2020
A: If you are using your factory rims you will not be able to mount the 26x10-12 on the front without rubbing. I would recommend finding an 8 or 9 inch wide tire for the front, or you could buy aftermarket rims that stick out farther and give you more room so you can clear the 26x10-12.

Q:I have a 2019 Polaris ranger 900 xp full size. It cam with 26x9x12 in front and 26x11x12 in rear. I would like to have all 4 tires the same size. Would 26x10x12 or 27x9x12 work better?
Asked by: Clint
- 3/23/2020
A: Hi, if you are wanting to run the same size tire all the way around on your Ranger we highly recommend you buy new rims that are also the same size, because your factory rims are 2 different sizes. The fronts are skinnier than the rears. If all 4 of your rims are the same I would recommend the 27x9x12 tires. Let me know if you have any other q's.

Q:Have a 2018 Yamaha Wolverine X4. Front wheels are 6” wide,rear are 7.5”. Would 27x9x12 mongrels work all around? Thanks.113p
Asked by: Curtis
- 10/26/2020
A: Yes those tires would fit but they will not measure the same height because they would be mounted on 2 different rim sizes. I would recommend doing 27x9 on front and 27x11 on rear if you are wanting to keep your factory rims. If you want all 4 to be the same I highly recommend buying new rims that are all 4 the same size so you can run the same tires all the way around and they would all be the same.

- 11/8/2020
A: Hi, yes you can fit 27x9-12 and 27x11-12 tires on the front and rear of your Ranger. 26x10-12 would most likely fit as well but you may get some rubbing on the front end if you are using your factory rims. I would recommend the 27x9 and 27x11. Let us know if you have any other questions.

A: Hi, this is a size they offer but unfortunately they are out of stock right now and GBC can't tell us when we'll be getting more. I would plan on a couple of months from now. We have some other good options in that size if you want to check out a couple of other styles we carry.

Q:I'm interested in your GBC Kanato Mongrel tires for my Suzuki Carry mini truck (Part Number:GBCKMON10) - I know that I can fit the 23-8-12 on the truck, which are 6 ply. If I can manage to fit the 25-8-12 (10 ply) then that would be my preference. What is the load rating difference between those two sizes? The truck is a farm truck and I often haul 1500 lbs in the back. Thanks!
Asked by: Janne
- 2/9/2021
A: Hi, the 23x8-12 Mongrel is a new size that GBC just released and they haven't given us load rating specs on it yet. The 25x8-12 is rated for 600 lbs. per tire so I imagine the 23x8-12 will be somewhere in that range.

Q:I have a 2013 Polaris RZR 800 EPS. I have been running Maxxis Bighorn tires 25x8R12 on the front and 25x10R12 on the rear. I want to go to the GBC Kanati Mongrel Radial D.O.T. because we now spend a lot more time on pavement. My friend has the same identical machine and runs 25X10R12 Mongrels front and rear on the OEM rims which are 8’ front and 10” rear. He says he has no problem but things I have read on your site indicate that can’t be done. What is the problem with doing this, or is that really OK?
Asked by: Gene
- 4/20/2021
A: Hi, we get this question a lot. Technically yes you could put the same sized tires all the way around on your factory rims and we have several customers that have done it. But we don't recommend it because your factory rims are 2 different sizes so if you put the same size tire all the way around on 2 different sizes of rims your tires will end up being different heights which isn't ideal. You'll have to use your judgment. We recommend getting new rims that are all the same if you plan to run the same sized tires all the way around.

Q:1. How wide a tire (29-30 tall) can I put on a front rim, 14x6, of a 2022 RZR XP 4 1000? Thinking about 30x10R-14 for front and 32x10R-14 for rear (back rims 14x8).
2. Can this result in a fairly equal tire diameter front to back? I know best to use 4 same size rims, but trying to use stock rims for now. Thanks for your input.
Asked by: AP
- 1/27/2022
A: 9 inch wide is the widest we'd recommend on the 14x6 rim. Yes that would result in more equal tire diameter. Let us know if you have any other q's.

A: No. All powersports tires that passed the FMVSS testing that is linked to approve DOT tires. Have been removed. This is Industry wide. Nearly all of the companies that had a dot rated tire for the powersports have been investigated by the NHTSA and advised to remove the wording for DOT and even FMVSS testing. NHTSA stated definitively they do and will not approve Powersports tires to have DOT even if they pass the FMVSS testing.

Q:Looking to put 30/10/14 on 21 Polaris Rzr xp1000 heard that these tires are only 28” in tall would like to stay in 30 inch so do I order 32
Asked by: Glen
- 2/22/2025
A: I've heard these run a little short as well but not 2 inches short. From what we've seen and heard a 30 inch Mongrel will measure around 29 inches tall when mounted and inflated. That can vary depending on the width of the rims you mount the tires on as well. If you have room for 30 inch or maybe even bigger I'd just go with the 32's.
